Biography
Nancy Sharpe is a mostly self-taught, intuitive abstract artist, known for her bold and playful use of color, texture and shape.
Each painting, whether it’s full of vibrant hues or layered in soft neutrals, brings the viewer directly into her very happy world, and that happiness is contagious. Nancy’s evolving subject matter includes bright florals, sea and landscapes and colorful abstracts.
After an education in international relations in Washington DC, Paris and Rome, a career as a luxury PR specialist, and living
abroad and restoring antique homes in England and Scotland, Nancy is delightedly settled on the beautiful Connecticut coast, close to where she grew up. Her art and life are always driven by wanderlust, a quirky love of art and history, a passion for color, wild flower gardens, and the sea.
The Cider House Studio began in 2018 in a vintage barn that was originally used to store and make apple cider. A large space full of light, it was the perfect space to start a career as a full-time artist.
Painting has brought so much to Nancy’s life, giving her the opportunity to start her own business, meet so many other creatives and entrepreneurs and most important, to make people happy.
Nancy Sharpe is a Shippan-CT-based artist, living with her British husband, two Australian Labradoodles and always looking forward to school breaks to see her children, Isabel and Oliver.
