MDA Mad City
This train was intended to convey a ‘free-for-all’ conceptual approach – each piece representing mul- tiple artists throwing up their pieces and competing for the attention of the viewer. I wanted to
intentionally convey a chaotic feeling to the piece, with some of the graffiti feeling rushed/sloppy in contrast to some of the more thought out graffiti. I considered aging the art on the train in the same manner the train car itself was aged; however, I decided to keep the paint fresh on the graffiti, so as not to dull the draw of the colorful art.
