Geometric Op-Art & Illusionary Metal Sculpture
Daniel Sanseviero is a Venezuelan sculptor whose geometric and optical works explore the dialogue between light, perspective, and space. Through steel and acrylic, he transforms precision and rhythm into visual movement.
Biography
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Daniel Sanseviero has dedicated his lifelong practice to an elite mastery of geometry, color, and visual perception. A prolific sculptor and designer, Sanseviero brings a distinctive, flawless balance of engineering precision and artistic curiosity to his three-dimensional works. His internationally celebrated practice is defined by a brilliant trompe-l’œil (fool the eye) effect, meticulously fabricating individual steel shapes that project a striking initial illusion of deep volume and multi-dimensional weight, only to dramatically reveal their surprising, paper-thin flatness upon closer inspection.
By expertly manipulating perspective through precise geometric lines and high-gloss automotive lacquers, Sanseviero plays a sophisticated visual game with the viewer’s perception of space and physical depth. Each original composition is painted on both its front and reverse faces, transforming his freestanding structures into interactive installations that evolve alongside changing gallery light or deliberate mirror placement. Having been honored with multiple prestigious fine art prizes across South America and Europe, Sanseviero’s arresting, mid-century-infused illusionary sculptures offer a spectacular visual edge exclusively tailored for the progressive Florida contemporary art scene.
