Contemporary Coastal Abstracts
Margaret Juul is a contemporary painter whose fluid, organic waterscapes translate the rhythmic motion of the ocean into healing visual narratives. Based in St. Petersburg and celebrated for her Organic Coastal Series, her textured abstractions blend modern interior aesthetics with a therapeutic intent featured in British Vogue.
Biography
Margaret Juul’s artistry is a lifelong response to the mesmerizing volatility of the ocean. Originally from the NYC Metro area, her perspective was forever altered by a near-death experience at age four, when she was pulled under by a riptide in Miami Beach. That moment, the glistening light piercing through the surf, is the foundation of her renowned Organic Coastal Waterscape Series.
With over 30 years of experience as an art buyer, gallery manager, and interior designer, Margaret transitioned to independent creation full-time in 2014. Her journey is defined by remarkable resilience; after a 2011 workplace accident crushed her hands and wrists, she defied medical predictions by painting her way back to full recovery. Today, she is a high-authority name in the global art market, with over $1,000,000 in print sales and work featured in three consecutive issues of British Vogue.
From collaborative exhibitions with Yoko Ono in Iceland to serving as the American Artist Representative in Baghdad, Margaret’s career highlights reflect her standing as an international heavyweight in the contemporary art scene. Her work is held in celebrity homes, major corporate lobbies, and hospitality venues from London to Beijing, consistently recognized for its ability to "breathe coherence" into any space it occupies.
